About

Selma Roussel is specialized in the making of realistic cartoon miniature sculptures that capture the intricate details of real people. She draws inspiration from visionaries like Ron Mueck, Simon Weisse or Peter Saunders and the eerie worlds of Lewis Caroll as much as the elegance of old Dutch masters and the whimsy of stop-motion. She blends old-fashioned and modern techniques to bring her tiny creations to life.

Selma has always been creative. Raised in a family of artists, she grew up in the south of France, surrounded by art with an unlimited access to new mediums to experiment with. Once graduated, she moved to Berlin, Germany and found a position of assistant to artist Pablo Perra for 3 years.

Currently dedicating herself to her art on a daily basis, she also assume a role of assistant in the production department of artist Tomàs Saraceno.

She now explores various artistic mediums, from painting to tattooing, and look forward in extanding her skills.
